Terms and Conditions of Hire
These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Alfresco Events (“we”, “us”, or “our”) for the hire of event equipment, catering, bar services and associated items in Jersey, Channel Islands.
By placing an order or confirming a booking with Alfresco Events, you (“the Client”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Booking and Payment
1.1 A booking is only confirmed once a deposit has been received and a confirmation email has been sent by Alfresco Events.
1.2 A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required to secure all bookings unless otherwise stated.
1.3 The remaining balance is due no later than 14 days prior to the event date, unless agreed in writing.
1.4 For bookings made within 14 days of the event, full payment is required at the time of booking.
2. Cancellations and Refunds
2.1 Cancellations made more than 30 days before the event will receive a full refund minus the deposit.
2.2 Cancellations made within 14–30 days of the event will incur a 50% charge of the total booking cost.
2.3 Cancellations within 14 days of the event will be charged in full.
2.4 Any changes to the booking must be made in writing and approved by Alfresco Events.
3. Hire Period and Delivery
3.1 Hire periods are typically for a 24–72 hour period unless otherwise agreed.
3.2 Delivery and collection times will be arranged in advance and must be adhered to.
3.3 Additional charges may apply for delivery outside of standard hours or difficult access locations.
3.4 The Client is responsible for ensuring clear access for delivery and collection.
4. Equipment Care and Responsibility
4.1 All hired items remain the property of Alfresco Events.
4.2 The Client is responsible for all hired equipment during the hire period, including from delivery to collection.
4.3 Any loss, damage or breakage will be charged at full replacement value.
4.4 Equipment must be returned in a clean and serviceable condition; cleaning fees may apply for excessive dirt or misuse.
5. Catering and Bar Services
5.1 Allergen information must be disclosed by the Client prior to the event.
5.2 While we take all reasonable precautions, Alfresco Events cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
5.3 Bar staff reserve the right to refuse service to any guest who is intoxicated or underage.
5.4 Licensing and legal compliance for alcohol services are the responsibility of Alfresco Events unless agreed otherwise.
6. Liability and Insurance
6.1 Alfresco Events holds public liability insurance appropriate for its services.
6.2 We accept no responsibility for injury or damage caused by misuse of hired equipment.
6.3 The Client is responsible for ensuring that the venue is suitable and safe for the hired services.
6.4 Alfresco Events shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to events beyond our control (e.g. weather, road closures, illness, etc.).
7. Force Majeure
We shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in our performance of any part of these Terms due to causes beyond our control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, strikes, pandemics, or governmental restrictions.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Jersey, Channel Islands, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jersey.
